Note: if you would like to use soft plastic in your design, you can create your own at home with our online tutorial and bring it into class (you won't need this material until week 2).
Included in the $220 ticket is four hours of in-person workshop hours, valued at $180, plus the production of your epic new bag, valued at $140-$220.
A total value of $400 for $220.

Sidebag Workshop FAQ
Nope! We kick class off with some fun and practical textile skills and repair techniques before diving into the waste curating process!
On the day you can choose from Into Carry’s shoulder bags:
- ‘Min Sidebag’ (small shoulder bag)
- ‘Sidebag’ (medium shoulder bag)
Working with wasted materials is creative in itself. We don't need elaborate ideas to make high quality bags. We just need a sewing machine and a few hours of time :)
Bonus sewing tip: You can cut two pieces of material with one pair of scissors.
Adaption to context: Sign up to the course with your friend you can't see and save $60 when you book together using the code "BESTBUDS" at checkout.
First, congratulations on starting all those projects. Second, the best part of this workshop is you don't even need to finish! We make the bag for you. You just get to do all the fun designing and curating, then we do the hard yakka and send you the bag the following week. So you can say FO to UFO's.
I recently learnt what a UFO is so it's only fair to share... it stands for UnFinished Object and is a 100% normal symptom of getting really excited about the potential of overlooked materials. But fear not, we will each finish the course with FO's.
Great question. The answer is: Only if you want it to.
We can intentionally make trashy bags but we can just as easily make crisp, sharp, super sexy-looking masterpieces. Without any prior skills of fancy knick nacks.
It can be nice to upcycle something with sentimental value, so if you have an old garment that you want to rebirth into carry then absolutely, bring it along!
Alternatively, we have soooo much material here for you to get creative with. There is a whole range of weird, wacky, wonderful waste, ready for you to start exploring and upcycling.
Each course is run from our space in Collingwood, Melbourne/Naarm. There is free parking after 6.30pm on most surrounding streets, otherwise the Tram along Smith St stops at Peel St is a couple hundred meters away.
Address is: 2A Robert St, Collingwood, VIC 3066
Time: 10.30am-3.00pm
Too easy, shoot Luke an email at luke@intocarry.co and we will get back to you asap.
