If you're looking to take your sewing, upcycling and bag making skills to the next level, this course is for you.

This course is not a linear step by step guide to create one type of bag from one type of material... this course details Into Carry's proven upcycling framework to not only create bags from waste but to have the skills to adapt each bag outcome to the ever-changing materiality of upcycled materials.

🌍 LEARNING & BAG OUTCOMES 

Over four weeks and four intimate group classes we cover Design, Pattern Making and Bag Construction so you not only finish with a brand new upcycled bag, but have the skills to repeat the process again and again. 

Following the framework, you have full control on the specifications of the design and process, so you can learn the decisions and troubleshooting required when working with various waste materials (including, but not limited to textiles, tarps, banners, plastics). Yum.

• Customisable tote bag/market bag/handbag pattern.
• How to create bag pocket, straps, bases, lining and accessory connections.
• Your badass custom designed bag.
• Skills to adapt and repeat the process for different shapes and material outcomes.

♻️ CLASS FORMAT

Work through the lessons at your own pace over four weeks with a one hour class call each week. You will retain access to the course curriculum and community after the course is finished. Each class focuses on a different learning outcome so you can continue to tackle waste with your own projects at home.

• Four one hour class calls (six people per class with one call per week)
• Lessons hosted on INTO Community online platform and can be accessed on web or mobile browser. 

💚 WHO IT'S FOR 

This class is for beginner to intermediate sewers. You must know the very basics of using a sewing machine to start the course. 

The curriculum and format is designed to meet you at your current skill level. If you recently learned to sew we can guide you through the fundamentals of each process. If you're more experienced, we can push your creativity for more complex designs and manufacturing processes. 

♻️ FOUR WEEK BREAKDOWN

Introduction: Course overview and bag design lessons sent out to complete before our first class. // Milestone: Bag Size Done

Week One: Pattern making time! With your bag size ready to roll we detail how to create a bag pattern to bring your design to life. // Milestone: Patterns Completed

Week Two: The making process begins. This week we cut and sew the straps and outside of our bag. // Milestone: Pre-Assembly One. Straps and Bag Outer Completed and sewn together.

Week Three: Cut and sew the inner details of the bag. This will include the lining, pockets and interior details your bag design requires. // Milestone: Pre-Assembly Two. Bag Lining and Pockets Done. 

Week Four: Final Assembly. We bring Pre-Assembly One and Two together to create your final bag! // Milestone: Bag Done!!!

THE NUMBERS 

Early bird prices are $195 AUD for the first days and $220 AUD at regular admission. Included in the $220 ticket is access to INTO Community online platform, the six lesson modules for you can revisit at any time plus the four one hour intimate group lessons.

Cancellations. We offer a refund policy up until 7 days prior to the course starting. If the cancellation is within this 7 day window, we will release the ticket and refund your amount pending its resale. No refunds will be processed once the semester has started.
